– Manchester United defeated Manchester City 1:0– Mourinho praises ManUtd fans

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho appears to have aimed a sly dig at Chelsea fans
Juan Mata’s second half strike was the difference as Manchester United came out on top in the League Cup derby against Manchester City. The defeat means Pep Guadiola’s side have failed to get a win in their last six games in all competitions.

United’s goal came in controversial circumstances in the 54th minute when Ibrahimovic’s squared pass was side-footed home by Mata – the goal allowed to stand despite a coming together between Ander Herrera and Fernando in the box.

And after the game the coach praised fans of Red Devils, saying their support is something he has never experienced in his career thus far.
He said: “The spirit of the supporters is phenomenal here, I never had people like these ones. The love the people have for the club is bigger than bad results and bigger than three bad seasons.”
